Contact Tracing

Image of a QR Code for St. Mary's Parish Canatrace AppAs you may know the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit has implemented some new safety protocols for places of worship.

We will maintain the Archdiocese of Toronto policy of not checking vaccination status. Beginning Friday November 26, 2021 all places of worship must actively screen people entering the church and keep a record of those who have come into the building. This record is kept for 30 days.

Specifically, we must record your name, phone number, date and time that you were in the church.  This information will allow Public Health to contact you IF someone who was in the church at the same time as you, tests positive for Covid 19.

We encourage you to fill out the Canatrace online form before coming to the church.  When you enter the church, we will have people ready to verify the Canatrace green check mark. Canatrace is free and easy to use.  We have used it successfully for Bible Camp.  If you click on this link https://qr.groundlevelinsights.com/qrForm/template/4637 it will take you to Canatrace for St. Mary’s Parish.

We recommend:

  • Complete the screening the day you are coming to church
  • Use your Smartphone to complete the screening for Covid 19.
  • Take a screen shot of the green check mark so you can show it to one our screeners

If you use your computer you will need to print the green check mark and bring it with you to the church.

If you arrive at church and have forgotten to do online screening you can complete the screening with a volunteer.

For those who do not use Canatrace you will be able to provide the necessary information to one of the parish screeners. We encourage you to plan ahead and arrive early for Mass or the meeting you are attending.

Please remember, everyone is to wear a mask, practice good hand hygiene, stay home if you are experiencing any Covid 19 symptoms or if you are unwell. To date, our parish has not been the source of transmission for Covid 19.  We will continue to follow the Worship Safe Guidelines provided by the Archdiocese of Toronto and those specific directives issued by Simcoe Muskoka Public Health.

As we implement this step to assist in stopping the spread of Covid 19 we thank you for your patience and kindness.

God bless you.
