Celebrating the Sacraments

Sacraments CelebratedDuring Easter season we celebrated Confirmation with 83 of our parishioners and 121 people joined us at the table of the Lord sharing in Holy Communion for the first time.

We thank God for the parents and families who nurtured faith in these young people and we pray that they will be a sign of God’s love in our homes, schools and community.

Ordinary Time

Ordinary TimeOn Monday, May 29th we enter the season of Ordinary Time. The décor in the worship space changes with the white or gold of Easter being replaced by the green of Ordinary Time. Green reminds us of life. This span of Ordinary Time extends to November 26th when we celebrate the Solemnity of Christ the King.

Each Sunday (Saturday evening) when we gather with the Body of Christ to give praise to God we are nourished from the table of God’s Word and the table of the Eucharist.  The nourishment we receive strengthens us to live as the Body of Christ for the life of the world.

   A Prayer for Ordinary Time

God of wisdom and love, source of all good, send your Spirit to teach us your truth

and guide our actions in your way of peace.

We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,

who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, God for ever and ever. Amen

Pentecost tongue of firePrayer for a Pentecost Tongue

“Holy Spirit of life, enflame me with passion for the Good News. Let my voice ring with the hope and promise of Christ.

Holy Spirit of grace, enlighten my mind and heart.

Fill my speech with expressions of peace and understanding.

Holy Spirit of love, immerse me in compassion and kindness.

May my words bring comfort to those in need of consolation and assurance. Amen.”
