Homelessness in Barrie

In May 2023 our parish community responded to the call for meals to be prepared and provided to the clients of Busby Centre. We responded to the immediate need and continue to provide a meal for each Saturday evening. At the same time, a group of people that are committed to advocating for change also began to meet. This small group of people focused on Social Justice have expanded their understanding of the lack of affordable housing, the need for shelter space and the many challenges faced by the most vulnerable members of our community. We know that access to housing is essential. A goal of the Social Justice committee is to educate the larger community.
