Vandalism at St. Catherine of Siena Church, Mississauga - Statement

The Archdiocese of Toronto is working with Peel Regional Police following vandalism and hate crimes at St. Catherine of Siena Church in Mississauga.

Parish staff reported damage to church property early Wednesday, May 20 after finding offensive graffiti on the church building and an adjacent school. A statue on the grounds of the church was also defaced. This same church was also vandalized in an incident on April 9, 2015.

Peel Regional Police are investigating the incident as a hate crime. No suspects have been identified. We understand police are investigating all avenues, including the review of video surveillance footage.
