Next Sunday, June 2nd our Annual Parish Picnic Returns!Picnic

 

You’re invited to our Parish Picnic to be held on the back lawn after the 12 noon Mass from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.  The Knights of Columbus will be cooking hamburgers and hot dogs for everyone.  Those attending are asked to provide a salad, cookies or squares which can be taken to the kitchen before the 8 a.m., 10 a.m. or noon Mass.  Entertainment for the whole family!  Don’t forget to bring your chairs and sunscreen!  We hope to see you there!

We remember in prayer those who have died recently including: Paul Sorel, Theresa Giffin, Sophie Wick, Gerald Skillen and Betty Brassard.

 

Hospital VisitationVisiting the Hospital: if you or a family member are admitted to RVH please let them know you are Catholic and call the parish office to inform us. If you wish to receive Holy Communion please let the parish office know and one of our pastoral visitors will come to see you.

 

Pro-Life Apologetics Evening – Knights of Columbus

Knights of Columbus LogoTuesday, May 28th from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 93 Berczy Street.

Wedding Anniversaries: Celebrating the Sacrament of Marriage

2 wedding rings and a crossThe married couples in our parish are a sign to us of God’s faithfulness and through their witness we are strengthened. If you celebrated a wedding anniversary in May we shall pray with you and share in your joy at all Sunday (Saturday evening) Masses on May 25th and 26th. We thank God for the gift of the married couples in our midst.

Today, we celebrate the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity.  Today we celebrate our eternal God: the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. 

Two prayers that embody our belief in the Trinity are: the Sign of the Cross and the Glory Be. Trinity Sunday is always celebrated on the first Sunday after Pentecost.

The Offertory Collection

Basket holding envelopesWe require people at each Sunday (Saturday evening) Mass to assist with the offertory collection. There is a simple protocol to follow which allows for a smooth process. There is no schedule, you are asked to sign in before Mass begins.

Knights of Columbus, Barrie Council 1626 Membership Drive and Hospitality Sunday

Knights of Columbus LogoThe Knights of Columbus are holding a Membership Drive and hosting hospitality after all Masses in the parish hall.  Members will available to talk with eligible parishioners about becoming Knights. The council will host an OPEN HOUSE on May 30 from 7:30—9:00 p.m. at Columbus Hall, 93 Berczy St. All eligible parishioners are invited to attend and learn more about being members and families of the world’s largest Catholic Men’s Organization.

meditationChristian Meditation is an ancient form of contemplative prayer rooted in the Christian tradition. We will meet at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 28th on Zoom. All are welcome! This will be the last gathering until September 5th.

 

Seniors DancingJune is Seniors’ Month: Celebrating the Gift of Years!

All adults in the second half of life are invited to join us for lunch on Wednesday, June 19th at 12:00 p.m. to celebrate and give thanks for the gift of years. We will provide soup, buns, and beverages. You are invited to bring either a salad, main course, finger food or dessert to feed four.  Join us for fellowship, good food, and door prizes as we celebrate the gift of years!

Celebrating the Liturgy of the Word with Children

Children's Liturgy of the WordWe will celebrate a separate Liturgy of the Word with children today, on Sunday, May 26th, June 9th and June 23rd during the 12 noon Mass. All children between the ages of 4 and 8 are invited to participate. The children and leaders are sent after the Opening Prayer and they return during the Preparation of the Gifts.  If you are interested in becoming a leader or have questions please contact David at dmurdoch@archtoronto.org.

Youth Ministry

Ages K to Grade 5 groupM.E.R.C.Y. (Ministry to Educate Roman Catholic Youth) is for youth grades J.K. to Gr. 4. where we explore our faith in a dynamic way through activities, games, crafts and music.  Our next gathering is at the Parish Picnic on Sunday, June 2nd.  

 

EDGE 2023EDGE is a youth ministry program for youth grades 5-8 EDGE is a safe, fun place for youth to find solid Catholic community, to get answers to their questions about faith and most importantly, to experience Jesus in a profound and personal way.  Our next gathering is at the Parish Picnic on Sunday, June 2nd.  

 

LifeTeen 2023LIFETEEN – for high school teens to explore their faith through talks, prayer and friendship meeting monthly on Sunday nights. Our next gathering is TODAY, May 26th after the 4:00 p.m. Mass.  Dinner provided.
