Praying for the Sick and Faithful Departed

Parish Pancake Breakfast

stack of pancakesHosted by the Knight of Columbus Council 1626, in the parish hall after the 8:00 a.m., 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. Masses on Sunday, February 11.

Pancakes, maple syrup, sausages and fruit cocktail will be served. Coffee, tea, and juice will also be provided.  No reservations required, Join us for a wonderful breakfast! Good Will donations will be accepted at the door, either cash or debit.

 

Visiting the Hospital

Hospital VisitationIf you or a family member are admitted to RVH please let them know you are Catholic and call the parish office to inform us. If you wish to receive Holy Communion please let the parish office know and one of our pastoral visitors will come to see you.

Parish Bible Study

Bible StudyPlease note, there has been a change of location and start date.  Bible Study will take place here at St. Mary’s in the parish hall, starting Thursday, February 15th at either 1:30 p.m. or 7:00 p.m.

 

Friday February 9th: Anointing of the Sick

Anointing the sickThe Anointing of the Sick conveys several graces and imparts the gifts of strengthening in the Holy Spirit against anxiety, discouragement and temptation and conveys peace and fortitude. The Anointing of the Sick is a prayer of healing including spiritual health and for the courage, strength and peace to bear the burden of illness.

We will celebrate a Mass of Anointing on Friday February 9th at 12:10 p.m. All those requesting the Sacrament of Anointing, young and elderly are welcome to attend. A reception of soup and sandwiches will follow in the parish hall.

 

Parish Lenten Mission

Lenten Parish Mission 2024Join us for three consecutive evenings beginning Sunday, March 3rd at 6:00 p.m., Monday, March 4thand Tuesday, March 5th at 7:00 p.m.

Led by Chris Bray, one of Canada’s most prolific Catholic speakers and musicians.  Chris will lead us in three nights of talks about encountering Christ more deeply through this Eucharistic focused parish mission.

 

 

 

Liturgy of the Word with Children

Liturgy of the Word with ChildrenWe are seeking adult leaders for Liturgy of the Word with Children at the 12:00 p.m. Mass.  The commitment would be once or twice a month on a Sunday. Youth Ministry

Ages K to Grade 5 groupM.E.R.C.Y. (Ministry to Educate Roman Catholic Youth) is for youth grades J.K. to Gr. 4 and gathers once a month on Friday nights from 6:00-7:30 p.m. where we explore our faith in a dynamic way through activities, games, crafts and music.  Our next gathering is Friday, February 9th.. Registration required. 

 

EDGE 2023EDGE is a youth ministry program for youth grades 5-8 to come together once a month on a Friday from 6:00-7:30 p.m.  EDGE is a safe, fun place for youth to find solid Catholic community, to get answers to their questions about faith and most importantly, to experience Jesus in a profound and personal way.  Our next gathering is Friday, February 23rd.

LifeTeen 2023LIFETEEN – for high school teens to explore their faith through talks, prayer and friendship meeting monthly on Sunday nights. Our next gathering is Sunday, February 11th after the 4:00 p.m. Mass.  Dinner provided.

Public Speaking ContestPublic Speaking

The Catholic Women’s League invites all Grade 7and 8 students to participate in the Public Speaking Contest to be held at St Mary's Parish in the hall on Saturday, February 24 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.  Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. Contestants will present a prepared speech that is not less than 3 minutes and no more than 5 minutes in length. Contestants will also be asked to prepare a 1 minute impromptu speech. Lunch Supervisor Needed

school houseMonsignor Clair Catholic School, 345 Livingstone Street East is looking for lunch supervisors to supervise students while they eat and play outside at recess from 11:55 a.m. to 12:55 p.m. We are interested in people who would like to come every day and those that are interested in being on-call, to be called when we are short staffed. It is a paid position.
