Full Active Conscious Participation in Mass: The Offertory Collection

Basket holding envelopesOur active participation in the celebration of Mass is crucial and is evident when we answer the prayers, listen to God’s Word and join in singing.

Being able to put our monetary contribution to the upkeep of the parish and the work of the church into the collection basket is another sign of our participation.

Now that we have resumed, ‘passing the offertory basket’ we require more people to assist. In particular we need additional people to assist at the 12:00 noon and 4:00 p.m. Mass.  To fulfill this ministry the church asks that the person be fully initiated and at least 16 years of age.

If you are able to assist as an Offertory Collector please speak with David Murdoch or send him an email at dmurdoch@archtoronto.org

CANADIAN MISSIONS COLLECTION

Next weekend, August 12/13th there will be a collection for Canadian Missions. Catholic Missions in Canada and the selected dioceses in Northern Canada will benefit from your generosity to sustain and extend the Catholic faith to isolated, poor and hard-to reach mission areas in our country.

CMIC fosters and extends blessings of the Catholic faith by supporting many missions in many regions of our country where the population is too small, or the economic situation of the community is too fragile for the people themselves to support their local Church and its ministry.

Proceeds from this collection will greatly benefit the Dioceses of Mackenzie-Fort Smith and Grouard-McLennan. Canadian home missions face unique challenges in demanding cultural and physical environments. Your contributions provide crucial support to fellow Catholics in remote areas of our nation. Thank you for your support !
