St. Augustine's Seminary Inaugural Mass with Cardinal Leo

On Thursday, August 28, 2025, the memorial of St. Augustine, His Eminence Frank Cardinal Leo presided at the opening Mass for St. Augustine’s Seminary. As the seminary embarks upon their 113th year of forming men for the priesthood, the opening Mass provided faculty, staff and seminarians an opportunity to not only welcome the new seminarians, but to ask for God’s blessing and guidance upon all in formation as they discern their vocation.

In addition, at the opening Mass, His Eminence Frank Cardinal Leo, administered the oath of fidelity for all new formation faculty and installed Dr. Josephine Lombardi as the new Academic Dean and Rev. Scott Birchall as the new Seminary Rector. 

We continue to pray for all the seminarians in formation from the 19 dioceses and eparchies in Canada and from around the world, and for all our formation faculty.
