Praying for the Sick If you or a family member is sick please let us know and we shall add their name to our prayer list which is posted in the gathering space of the church.

We remember in pray those who have died recently including Yvonne MacDonald, Sister Marjorie Casey gsic, Susan Hambrook Bailey, Anthony Zimbalati, Sharon Poachman, David Hurtibese and Catherine Haley.

Ministry to the Hospitalized If you or a family member are hospitalized please contact the parish so you or they may receive a pastoral visit.

Baptism for School Age Children

If your child is not baptized or was not baptized in the Catholic Church and he or she wishes to celebrate a sacrament please contact Catherine Ecker at 705 728 2985 ext. 115 or email cecker@archtoronto.org

THE SOCIETY OF ST. VINCENT DE PAUL

This month, The Society of St. Vincent de Paul celebrates our founder, Blessed Frederick Ozanam.

Our annual collection (green envelopes) is next weekend, September 18/19, 2021. We are able to serve our clients only through the generosity of our parishioners.  We continue to provide gift cards from Giant Tiger on Cundles Road where clients are able to purchase their groceries.

Donations can be made by cheque payable to:

Society of St. Vincent de Paul, St. Mary's Conference. (This is a bank requirement.)

or through E-transfer to ssvpoffice@gmail.com or use the poor boxes in the church.  Tax receipts for green envelopes will be included in your St. Mary's receipt. Other receipts will be issued by SSVP. Please be sure to include your name and address on all donations.

On behalf of our Ministry and our clients thank you for your continued support and prayers.

PARISH LINEN VOLUNTEERS

We are seeking volunteers who are willing to take home the small linens used at Mass (not the large altar cloths), to launder and iron.  The commitment is for one month throughout the year.  Full training will be provided.  Please notify Susan in the parish office by phone at 705.728.2985 or email stmarysbarrie@archtoronto.org.  Thank you!

You are Invited to Join Us for Faith Nourishment

Second Tuesday of Every Month

Tuesday, September 14th: Celebrating the Feast of the Triumph of the Cross. 

The Church calls all people to continue to grow in understanding and knowledge of our faith. To assist all members of the parish we are offering an evening of prayer, catechesis (teaching) and discussion on the second Tuesday of each month.

This session will be in person in the parish hall on Tuesday, September 14th at 7:30 p.m.  All are welcome to join Father Larry and Catherine Ecker for a time of faith nourishment! Please remember to wear your mask!

YOUTH MINISTRY

A big thank you to all of the volunteers, families and campers for making this year's Edge camp at Camp White Pine such a success! We are looking forward to continuing to foster the friendships made at camp throughout the school year.

M.E.R.C.Y. (Ministry to Educate Roman Catholic Youth) is for youth grades S.K.-4 and gathers once a month on Friday nights from 6:00-7:30 p.m. where we explore our faith in a dynamic way through activities, games, crafts and music.  Our Kick-Off night is Friday, September 17^th! 

EDGE is a youth ministry program for youth grades 5-8 to come together once a month on a Friday from 6:00-7:30 p.m.  EDGE is a safe, fun place for youth to find solid Catholic community, to get answers to their questions about faith and most importantly, to experience Jesus in a profound and personal way.  Our Kick-Off night is Friday, September 24^th.

LIFE TEEN – for high school teens to explore their faith through talks, prayer and friendship meeting monthly on Sunday nights. MINISTRY WITH MATURING ADULTS

The Ministry with Maturing Adults seeks to support the lifelong faith development of women and men throughout all phases of the pre-retirement and retirement years. Programs are open to everyone.

Celebrating Autumn and Re- Connecting During Covid -Wednesday, September 22^nd from 2:00 – 3:30 p.m. We are excited to host an afternoon of conversation, simple refreshments and music. If you are ready to re-connect with members of St. Mary’s Parish please plan on attending this afternoon session. Weather permitting, we will meet at the front of the church, chairs will be provided. VON SMART (Seniors Maintaining Active Roles Together) Exercise Program is held on Tuesday mornings. For details regarding beginning dates and registration please call: VON at 705 737 5044 ext. 221.
